What is your capacity?
The gardens can comfortably host up to 100 for weddings.
The Formal First Floor can comfortably host up to 40 in a "graze" setting, and even for an indoor ceremony.
-
Can we choose our own vendors and bring our own food?
Yes, you can bring your own food! You can also choose a caterer, or ask us for our favorites - we are happy to help.
-
What is the alcohol policy?
For private parties like weddings or showers, you may serve your own beer and wine to adults of legal drinking age. If you would like to serve liquor, you can hire a licensed mobile bartender - in this case, you provide the alcohol to the bartender, and they serve it. We can suggest bartenders if needed.
-
What if it rains?
Passing showers happen in Ohio, but it's very uncommon there is a full day of rain. For outdoor weddings, a 40 by 40 white tent is included. This size tent can easily hold up to 200 people, seated - this is why we limit our capacity to 100 people, so in case there is rain, there is plenty of room under the tent for a rain-plan ceremony and your vendors. The rain plan ceremony would be held under the tent, with the formal gardens as a backdrop.
*For smaller garden events under 40 people, you have the option to move the event to the Formal First Floor.
-
What about parking?
Onsite, we can accommodate 30-50 cars depending on weather between our parking lot and grass areas. With advance notice, we also have offsite parking available on adjacent properties to accommodate an additional 40-50 cars.
-
Are there get-ready suites?
Yes, there are two - one is on the ground floor (the brick room and green room) and one is on the first floor (the pink parlor, blue dining room, kitchen and hallway). Check out our photo galleries to see these!
-
How many restrooms do you have?
We have three restrooms - one on the formal first floor and is handicap-accessible, and there are two on the ground floor that have one step to access them.
-
Is there space for a food truck?
Yes, certainly. We can work with your vendor to arrange access to power, water, or prep facilities if needed.
-
What time does the venue close?
Music needs to be off at 11 PM. The Gardens close at 12 AM and everyone must be offsite. The Formal First Floor closes at 6 PM during weddings.
-
Is there a prep space for food/catering?
Yes, there is a caterer's kitchen. It is located on the ground floor, directly adjacent to the main event space. It is a large, spacious room, with lots of counter space, a fridge, freezer, commercial sized warmer, and oven.
-
Is there a ceremony space?
There is a white pergola, with white benches that seat up to 100 people.
-
Is rehearsal time included?
Yes, one hour of rehearsal time is included for wedding packages.
-
Booking process
We use Google Forms to create and complete contracts. We can make changes (such as adding a tent) later, in the same Google Form, by adding an addendum at the end, so everything is in one place.
-
Payment
For events $500 and under, payment is due in full at time of contract signing.
For events over $500, you can split this into up to four equal payments, with the last payment due 90 days prior to your event.
-
Can we add a tent or other services later?
Absolutely, we can do that in a contract addendum.
-
Is the venue handicapped accessible?
For the formal first floor, we have a portable ramp that can be installed for wheelchair access, and the bathroom is accessible. The ground floor is level with the outdoors, and there is a slope to access the gardens. There is one step to access the bathrooms on the ground floor.
